Spiritual Life
“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
– Proverbs 22:6
At Sandia View Christian School we believe in an approach to the school environment where academic learning and spiritual development go hand in hand. We recognize that students who develop a close, thriving relationship with God will be well prepared to meet the challenges in life. A right relationship with God brings harmony to all other aspects of the student’s life. Student spiritual development will equip them with character qualities such as work ethic, respect authority, honesty, personal responsibility and love and consideration of others. This will help lead students of this generation being difference makers and leaders who will have a positive impact in our world.
At SVCS, we strive to take every opportunity to direct our students to experience God at work in their life. One of the greatest blessings of Christian education at Sandia View Christian School is daily freedom to openly pray and give God the credit for every blessing, small and great, whether it is in the classroom or the playground, sports programs or field trips.
Each of our teachers, administrators and staff strive to model and teach God’s word because they believe that the child’s spiritual development is of utmost importance. It is our goal that our students leave SVCS with not only a great education, but also with a solid faith that will carry them throughout the rest of their lives. It is our goal to nurture their relationship with God through…
Bible Class
Bible classes provide an opportunity to come to know the Word of God in a very real and intimate way in an age appropriate setting. All students have memory verse on a weekly basis. SVCS students from Kindergarten through 8th Grade participate in daily devotions and prayer in the classroom.
Chapel
Chapel is a time when SVCS brings everyone together to praise and worship God. You will find various classes leading everyone in praising God through music. Our chapel programs are led by guest speakers, community pastors and our very own students to bring a prayer and a devotional to our collective body.
Week of Prayer
Each Week of Prayer brings a special theme and blessing where our students are challenged and encouraged by dynamic speakers and presenters to follow God in all aspects of their lives.
Service Projects
From Kindergarten to 8th Grade, our students are encouraged to be involved in service to their school, church, community and to the world. From collecting Christmas gifts for underprivileged children to making sandwiches for the homeless you will find our students working to make the lives of others a little better. Our students visit several nursing homes in the area throughout the school year providing them with music to bring a smile to those who are lonely.
