“I can do all things through him who gives me strength”
– Philippians 4:13 (NIV)
The sports program at Sandia View Christian School is designed to be a venue for our students to learn and experience a variety of social skills such as leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, commitment, self-discipline and respect for others. Athletics is an important and integral part of SVCS’s high quality, God centered educational program.
The role as parents and spectators cannot be underestimated and is important to the growth of our athletic program. You help to encourage our coaches and athletes to their highest levels of effort and achievement while maintaining a Godly perspective on winning, losing and the pursuit of excellence. Our coaching staff is carefully selected from parent volunteers and other interested individuals.
The program is open to fifth through eighth grade students. We desire a wide student participation in the athletic program, however, participation is an honor and a privilege; it is not a student right. Students who wish to join a team make themselves subject to additional responsibilities, not only for themselves, but to their team and school. Negative actions and attitudes as well as inadequate academic standing will immediately remove even the best players from SVCS’s sports teams.
Sandia View Christian School has a history of competitive excellence in the Albuquerque Parochial Independent Athletic League in Volleyball, Boys Basketball and Girls Basketball.
